Nuits St Georges Les Chaignots, Mugneret-Gibourg 2012

Tasting Notes

The 2012 Nuits Saint Georges 1er Cru Les Chaignots comes from 1.25-hectare plot of vines planted in 1958, 1971 and 1973. It has a beguiling bouquet with captivating purity: a mixture of black cherry and fresh strawberry fruit that comes with exquisite delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with a gentle grip on the entry. There is a core of citrus fresh red berry fruit and entrancing delineation on the mineral-rich finish. Is there a better Nuits Saint Georges than this in 2012?
