Tasting Notes

The 2024 Niedermenniger Herrenberg Riesling Kabinett trocken Mutter Anna is clear, deep, and elegant on the nose, with charming, fruity aromas that reflect the reddish, loamy soil of this vineyard. Full-bodied and juicy, with delicate and lively acidity, lingering minerality and firm tannins, this is a light, fresh and pleasantly crisp dry Riesling from vines that are 70+ years old. 10% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in March 2026.

AP: 01 24. The 2023er Niedermenniger Herrenberg Riesling Kabinett Trocken Mutter Anna (the reference to this internal cask name is provided in small print on the label after the AP number) comes from 60-70-year-old vines. It offers a subtly ethereal nose made of earthy elements, a bit of citrusy fruits, melon, and minty elements. The wine proves beautifully cut and precise but also a bit subdued at this stage on the palate and leaves a pure even if shy feel of minerals and pear in the finish. A touch of hardness still needs to smooth away in the aftertaste. This quite pure expression of racy dry Kabinett could well warrant a higher rating at maturity. 2028-2038
