The 2016 Rausch Spätlese, as it is referred to on central part of the front label, with AP 02 (an auction lot) offers a touch of volatile which quickly
gives way to candied lemon, herbs, apricot, white peach, fresh mango, mint, cream, and smoke. The wine proves superbly balanced on the palate
where citrusy fruits and whipped cream make for a stunning sense of freshness and finesse. This is a great “Spätlese GK”-styled wine to enjoy over
the coming decades. Now-2046
A hugely complex, rich and ripe nose of rhubarb, candied fruits, orange and mango gives way to a fresher side underpinned by gooseberry and anise as the wine develops in the glass. The wine is very smooth and delicate on the palate, where juicy fruits, honey and luscious cream are wrapped into a mild expression of acidity. The acidity does however come through in the very and delicate finish and brings depth and intensity to this Auslese GK styled expression of Riesling
