Tasting Notes

The white Musigny was racked just before the harvest, now back in barrel. Clear pale colour even with a faint green reflection. Rather a beautiful gently perfumed nose, flinty yet fine, this year the Musigny Blanc does seem like grand cru quality. A little lemongrass and then a crystalline white fruit. Really promising. Drink from 2028-2035.

The domaine’s 2021 Musigny Blanc is also an outstanding young wine. The bouquet offers up a refined blend of lemon, green apple, a beautiful base of chalky soil tones, white flowers, vanillin oak and a lovely topnote of beeswax. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and shows off excellent mid-palate depth, with a fine girdle of acidity, lovely focus and grip and a long, complex and seamlessly balanced finish. I love the backend energy of this wine in 2021! Drink between 2025-2050
