Tasting Notes

This Bourgogne Blanc receives what Jean-Marie Guffens describes as a "Grand Elevage" - that is to say a similar method of production as his single vineyard wines. Made from grapes picked from old vines in the Peronne and Les Légeres vineyards, it is matured for 10 months in oak barrels with 10% new oak. Bright straw in colour with a peachy, full-fruited nose that has an immediate juiciness, there is just a lick of sweet spice in the background. The palate is silky and seamless, led by orchard fruit but with a distinct savoury edge. Pure and immediate drinking pleasure.
