Owned by the Quinn family from Ireland with winemaking by Stephen Carrier who has also worked in California and Australia. Less than 2000 cases are made annually of the white wine from 70% Sauvignon Blanc, 25% Sémillon.
The 2023 is 60% Sauvignon Blanc, 40% Semillon. Ageing in 33% new oak.
The 2023 Blanc from de Fieuzal is another great success this year, exhaling pure aromas of white fruits, white flowers, ripe orchard fruits, menthol and anise. Medium to full-bodied, seamless and broad, it has a delicate, pure mid-palate with chalky dry extract and a long, mouthwatering and saline finish. The aging period in barrels may enhance its mid-palate, potentially making it one of the standout white wines of the vintage. This is a blend of 60% Sauvignon Blanc and 40% Sémillon.
A bright, silery lemon colour with fine citrus, green apple, tarragon and white flowers on the nose. The palate is silky and fine-boned, driven by waves of refreshing acidity. Underlying savoury tones add complexity, but this is all about the textural refinement. It will enjoyable when young.
This is very focused, with good energy and nervy acidity. Medium-bodied with vibrant citrus fruit and crunchy minerality. Firm and tense finish.
