The 2021 Pinot Noir Finn is the crown jewel in the DuMOL portfolio this vintage, offering unparalleled perfume, length and harmony. Its aromas blossom slowly, from rhubarb, blackberry jam and pomegranate, to pure accents of licorice, iodine and Earl Grey tea. The palate explodes with concentrated flavors, underpinned by tremendous spicy accents. It has a seamless, silky mouthfeel, an ethereal support of dusty tannins and a tremendously long, floral finish that just goes on and on—it's impossible not to take another sip of this dreamy Pinot Noir!
The 2021 Pinot Noir Finn was made from fully destemmed grapes and aged with 40% new oak. Medium to deep ruby-purple in color, it erupts from the glass with powerful notes of black raspberries, Morello cherries, pomegranate, and rhubarb, followed by hints of lavender oil, dark chocolate, wild sage, and crushed rocks. The medium-bodied palate is completely filled with bold black and red berry flavors with loads of savory and mineral accents and a fine-grained frame, finishing very long and perfumed. Since 2009, this has been a blend of 58% Bressay Estate and 42% Occidental Road Vineyard. pH 3.55, ABV 14%, 644 cases made.
The 2021 Pinot Noir Finn pours a jeweled ruby and is sourced from two vineyards. It offers up nearly ripe, attractive smoky notes of cherry, cracked pepper, and dusty earth. Full-bodied, it’s expansive on the palate, with ripe black raspberry, pine, and anise. This needs time but is well structured and has excellent balance. Drink 2025-2040.
