Aromas of balsamic, spice, plum and dried strawberry. Medium to full body with round and fine tannins showing polish and energy. Salty. Savory and subtle fruit. 7.6 hectares. Very high calcium-based soils. From biodynamically grown grapes with Demeter certification. Screw cap.
The 2022 Cornish Point Pinot Noir is incredibly fragrant, with dried lavender and sandalwood, cherry, raspberry pip and cocoa. In the mouth, the wine is full-bodied and supple, with layers of tannin and spice. Through the finish, the wine tightens up and flows across the palate for a precise, spooling close. Exciting wine, I like the undulation of texture in the mouth. 14% alcohol, sealed under screw cap.
First impression is of a seductively light wine that quickly builds greater intensity revealing a medley of floral, fruit and spice flavours wrapped around a core of sweet tannins and fruity acidity that lingers tantalisingly on a lengthy finish. Supple wine with a silken texture.
