Côtes du Rhône Rouge, Domaine Jean-Paul Jamet 2021

Tasting Notes

Tinned strawberry, mulberry – a lick of cracked black pepper beneath. A sprinkle of clove, pepper and cinnamon on the palate. Light in body, refreshing and so drinkable. Light and floral and already ready. A subtle liquorice note on the salty finish. So utterly drinkable, delicious and easy. (AC)

Certainly a big step up from their IGP Syrah, this has deeper fruit and a more classically northern expression. It's light-bodied, without great concentration. Tannins aren't intense, but they're certainly strict and structured. Some red fruits among the black bring a slightly perfumed element. Freshness, good acidity and low alcohol make this very drinkable, a leaner year. All destemmed.
