This small parcel of vines is situated in the village of Prissé but is very close to the vines of Pouilly-Fuissé in Vergisson. The vines are around 50 years old grown on a stony soil. Made from free-run juice only and fermented and aged in barrel with 25% new oak. Bright pale yellow in colour with an enticing nose of confit lemon, struck flint and incense. The palate has tones of fresh nut and toast, together with lemon curd, mandarin and a hint of pear. A spicy, silky, juicy wine that will have immediate appeal. Fine acidity on the finish.
The 2022 Saint-Véran Vigne de Saint-Claude is another lovely rendition of this perennially excellent cuvée, exhibiting aromas of orange oil, pear, toasted nuts and white flowers, followed by a medium to full-bodied, elegantly textural but incisive palate, concluding with a long, mouthwatering finish.
