The 2022 Mâcon-Pierreclos En Tremblay retains a cool profile despite the warm vintage, delivering notes of pear, clear honey, orange oil and nutmeg, followed by a medium to full-bodied, satiny and precise palate, concluding with a saline finish.
This single vineyard wine comes from the highest parts of the village of Pierreclos on a limestone plateau. It is made only from the fruit of old vines. Vinfied entirely in barrels - with 20% new oak. After fermentation finished in November, the wine was aged in barrel until the following June with regular batonnage. A fresh, zesty nose lined with fresh lemons and quince, together with a hint of struck flint and gun smoke. The palate is fresh with an impressive core of crunchy fruit in the middle. The battonage has added weight and texture, with flecks of wood spice bolstering the tangy fruit, carrying to a long, fine finish.
