The 2020 Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Nuits Les Dames Huguette derives from stonier soils that are richer in active calcium. It's a medium to full-bodied, chiseled and saline red evocative of cherries, cassis, rose petals and spices. If Aux Chaumes will be a charmer out of the gates, Les Dames Huguette will reward at least a few years' patience.
A deeply pitched nose freely reveals its blend of plum, dark berries and subtle earth and floral wisps. There is very good vibrancy and delineation to the nicely mineral-driven flavors that possess a chalky texture on the youthfully austere finale. This is an excellent and age-worthy Bourgogne and very much worth your consideration.
