Chablis Blanchot, Domaine François Raveneau 2020

The 2020 Chablis Grand Cru Blanchot is a broad, enveloping wine, wafting from the glass with aromas of orange oil, apricot, freshly baked bread, green apple, pastry cream and petrol. Full-bodied, rich and concentrated, it's satiny and layered, with lively acids, terrific depth at the core and a long, sapid finish.

Pale in colour, more backward, very intense, the Blanchot starts discreet then builds to a considerable volume. Shows the wood a bit at the moment but will integrate because it is the fruit which reasserts itself at the finish. Stylish for sure, long and classy.
