A deep color in the glass. The 2019 DC Block is delightfully reserved and slowly builds in the glass, with mulberry and blackberry taking center stage before beef stock and ironstone take hold. That satisfying but understated style is then mirrored by layers of flavor that evolve and build in complexity over time. It goes from sweet to savory and back again, supported by layers of fine mouthcoating tannins. This wine is already in a holding pattern where it will sit for some years.
