Tasting Notes

The 2021 Riesling Saarburger Kabinett was entirely harvested in the Saarburger Rausch vineyard. Slate and lemon are immediately present on the nose. The palate comes in with gentle sweetness that is indelibly impressed with lemon. There are edges of tropical overtones and a slight bitterness, despite zero botrytis. Wonderful aromatics reference some candied lemon peel and a touch of saffron but the finish returns to a taut vision of lemon. With 47.8g/L of sugar and 9.5g/L of acidity, this comes across as fresh rather than outright sweet. (Medium) 2023 - 2045

A very concentrated and complex wine for this light wine category. Serious structure and subtlety with chamomile, mint, Amalfi lemon, lime and wet stone character rippling over the palate. Intensely mineral, very long and pure finish. Drink or hold.
