**Note: from .20 ha parcel in Grand Maupertuis**
Prominent oak notes frame very ripe red and black cherry and earth aromas that can also be found on the rich yet cool broad-scaled flavors that are powerful and driving on the strikingly intense finish that is chewy but not aggressive and blessed with outstanding complexity. This is a dramatic wine yet balanced with presently buried tannins and I especially admire the underlying sense of energy and vibrancy.
Clear bright red, very vigorous youthful nose, floral, just a touch of oak but well integrated. This is very good. Then notes of bacon fat and elastoplast come up behind, suggestive of some bacterial activity. But the fruit is still exceptionally vigorous – and might yet triumph later in life.
