Musigny, Domaine Tawse 2018

Tasting Notes

The 2018 Musigny Grand Cru initially shows quite a lot of reduction on the nose, though there is plenty of attractive red fruit behind it with some evidence of whole bunch addition. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, a crisp line of acidity that lends this Musigny edginess. Cohesive, gaining weight towards the finish, this Musigny conveys a sense of energy that should ensure it matures with class. Ethereal. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2018 red tasting.

Medium deep in colour with some stems evident. This is becoming more complex in the glass, and does deliver the density that we hope for. Solid, rich and just starting slowly to give. Then it really does, and eventually delivers a mass of predominantly red fruit. Very long finish indeed. Drink from 2035.
