Charming and fleshy, the 2018 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Folatières En la Richarde delivers notes of orange oil, crisp orchard fruit, white flowers, smoke and praline. Medium to full-bodied, layered and textural, it's lively and open-knit, with a nicely defined finish.
A hint of exoticism can be found on the passion fruit, jasmine tea and apple compote aromas that exhibit a pretty floral top note. There is a beguiling sense of energy to the delineated and overtly mineral-inflected flavors that possess a highly appealing mouthfeel while delivering outstanding depth and length on the chalky finish. This is sufficiently structured to reward mid-term cellaring but should also drink well young. Oustanding.
