**Note: from a .52 ha parcel of 50+ year old vines located next to the famed Clos des Perrières**
Smoky notes of mineral reduction add breadth to the equally cool and airy nose of green apple, citrus and a plenitude of floral wisps. The dense yet refined medium weight flavors possess a positively gorgeous texture that carries over to the markedly stony bitter lemon zest finale that possesses not only stunningly good length but terrific complexity as well. This borderline tannic effort is very much built to reward extended cellaring and will need at least some. The word brilliant comes to mind and the 2020 version is one of the best recent Matrot Perrières I've seen.
Still in barrel, unracked. Delightful pure lemon and lime colour with especial intensity on the nose. This is multi layered, certainly the concentration of fruit that one hopes for but it comes in waves rather than single overwhelming block of fruit. Excellent mineral acidity to, the most complete wine, ahead of the Combettes, and possibly even the stunning Chalumeaux. Tasted: 10/1/2021
