As with the 2001s, this is the clear class of the group with a nose of wood spice and reserved, reluctant red and black fruit aromas cut with earth and damp leaves framing big, robust, solidly structured flavors that have good underlying material. This will always be edgy and tannic but at least there is reasonable overall balance. Drink: 2009-15
