Richer purple with a heady nose, all three Vosne 1ers crus are so different. The oak is present but happily balanced, and there is a wealth of gorgeous concentrated fruit, cooler than the nose initially suggested. Lots of oak but it is being digested nicely and will not dry out the wine. Three barrels, all to be bottled in magnums
Charles van Canneyt sources his Malconsorts from the higher part of the Premier Cru and always makes a refreshingly graceful expression of the terroir. With floral top notes of lily and rose petal, fine-grained tannins and a core of orange zest and raspberry fruit flavours, this is an elegant, textured Vosne that will drink well young but age confidently too. Subtle and appealing. (Drink between 2023-2032)
