Clos Saint Denis, Pascale Marchand / Marchand-Tawse 2018

Tasting Notes

The 2018 Clos Saint-Denis Grand Cru comes from the namesake lieu-dit, matured in 50% new oak with 25% whole bunch. It has a wonderful bouquet of pure red currant, cranberry, sous-bois and crushed stone aromas that is very delineated and focused. The medium-bodied palate offers a saline entry, superb tension and fine weight, with a pinch of black pepper toward the persistent finish. Superb. 2024-2050

From the heart of the Clos. Lovely fresh vibrant purple with à succulent ripe red fruit. Imperial, glossy, baby Musigny in style. One quarter whole bunch. Not over-ripe as this was picked quite early, offering a fine long finish.
