Here too there are fermentation aromas on the nose that crowd out all but suggestions of spice. More interesting are the very rich and quite full-bodied flavors that possess a powerful but refined mouthfeel that terminates in a very dry, youthfully austere and well-balanced finale. This beauty of a La Romanée is also going to require at least some patience.
Notes of pear, clear honey, ripe melon, white flowers and almond paste introduce the 2019 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru La Romanée, a medium to full-bodied, layered and concentrated wine that's satiny and enveloping, its ample core of fruit framed by chalky extract and succulent acids.
