Corton Charlemagne, Jean-Marc Roulot 2018

Tasting Notes

This is also admirably pure, cool and elegant with its array of green apple, wet stone, white flower and a plenitude of subtle spice elements. The sleek, intense and well-detailed flavors are definitely not as dense, but they do flash equally good minerality on the impressively lengthy finale. This is also quite good, but it can't quite match the Chevalier overall excellence.

From vines in Languettes and Hautes Mourottes, Roulot's 2018 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru reveals aromas of citrus zest, green apple, white flowers and crushed chalk. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and incisive, it's racy and tensile, with a fine-boned core of fruit and a mineral finish.
