Condrieu Les Chaillets, Domaine Yves Cuilleron 2020

Cuilleron's management of Viognier is always impressive. Pale lemon-gold in colour, the nose is classic Condrieu, peaches, apricots and cream, with a yoghurty, generous richness. The palate, while showing all the same succulence, has impressive mineral and acid cut to add both structure and freshness. The result is a wine of depth, length and finesse, no easy feat in this region, finishing with a moreish lick of wood spice. No need to wait here, these wines are almost always at their best when young. Enjoy over the next five years.
