Tasting Notes

The 2020 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru has a lifted, liquorice-tinged bouquet that opens beautifully in the glass (and has not problem following on from Jadot’s Montrachet!) The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity that cuts through the crisp citrus fruit laced with orange pith, stem ginger and white pepper. There is real cohesion and persistence on the finish - just an excellent Corton-Charlemagne. Closure: Diam

Pale lemon yellow. The bouquet is quite quiet though with promise. This is classic on the palate, rippling stones dusted lightly in lemon. The oak in support is well judged. Perfect acidity to finish – it is there but ripe not trenchant. Fine and quite nuanced finish with some floral notes. Tasted: November 2021

Mid lemon in colour. Tight on the nose for now, revealing a little gresh almond, honey and white pear. The palate is gourmand, thick and oily, full bodied and powerful. This is a wine defined by texture, building pithy spice through the mid palate. Rich and round, with a finish of peach cordial and honeyed fruit.
