David Leclapart L'Amateur 2018

The NV l'Amateur Blanc de Blancs Premier Cru Pas Dosé is 100% Chardonnay with no dosage and it is labelled V18, meaning it all comes from vintage 2018. Biodynamic methods are used in the certified organic vineyard and the wine is fermented with indigenous yeasts. Pale lemon-gold color, it slowly reveals subtle scents of apple butter, fresh Bosc pears, and lemongrass with hints of sea spray, salted almonds, and jasmine tea. The bone dry palate is laced with loads of toasty/nutty flavors, enveloping the apple crumble and marzipan inspired layers and supported by seamless acidity plus a very fine mousse, finishing with lingering saline and yeasty notes. It has a wild yeast influence that you either love or hate. Personally, I love it.
