Crozes Hermitage, Domaine Franck Balthazar 2018

Tasting Notes

The 2018 Crozes Hermitage is sourced mostly from Roche de Glun (70%), with the balance from Mercurol. Like all of the wines here, it's made with 100% whole clusters. It shows admirable purple-raspberry fruit but also some herbal-stewy notes on the nose, then black cherries on the full-bodied palate. Silky and a bit herbal on the finish, it should emerge from its 18-month élevage looking good.
