The 2019 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru is also full of promise, mingling aromas of cherries and licorice with hints of loamy soil, peonies and espresso roast. Full-bodied, deep and enveloping, with velvety tannins and a lively spine of acidity, it's especially bright and dynamic, concluding with a long, mouthwatering finish. It was vinified with 60% whole bunches and raised in two-thirds new oak.
