Tasting Notes

Deep ruby-purple. Full of character on the nose, showing forest fruits, freshly ground black pepper, violets and cured meat. The palate is grippy and vibrant, bursting with red and black fruits. The whole-bunch character adds a wild, savoury complexity with green peppercorn and rosemary wonderfully complementing notes of violet and plum. There is smoky, meaty complexity that builds through to the long, vibrant finish. Quintessential Cote Rotie at a brilliant price point!

Farr Vintners, Farr Tasting, November 2020

Peppered blueberries and raspberries mark the nose of the 2019 Cote Rotie la Vialliere, the latest—and most impressive—release from this historic domaine. Vaguely floral notes, hints of black olives and licorice add complexity to the bouquet, while on the palate, this medium to full-bodied effort still shows some appealing baby fat, an expansive yet structured feel and ample length on the finish. Drink 2021 - 2035.
