Elegant, pure and airy aromas of green apple, lemon rind and pretty floral scents slide gracefully into the plush, round and rich but delicate middle weight flavors that exude a subtle minerality on the clean, dry and balanced finale. This classy effort is both lovely and understated.
Another success is the 2019 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Combettes (Domaine Louis Jadot), a medium to full-bodied, tightly wound wine that offers up aromas of citrus zest, white flowers, toasted nuts and buttery pastry. Deep and concentrated, it's a fine proposition for the cellar.
Narrow block with long rows, which always has ripened and lost acidity quickly. This is a powerful boy, but a little bit short and with some heat, rather the fate of Combettes in the last two vintages. Tasted: October 2020
