The pronounced ripeness of the 2015 vintage is immediately apparent on the wonderfully spicy aromas of white orchard fruit, floral, smoke and mildly phenolic scents. The broad-shouldered flavors are ultra-rich with so much dry extract that the mid-palate is borderline creamy and opulent while the mildly warm finish just goes on and on. This is imposingly powerful and massively constituted and should age for years. With that said, I find this lavishly opulent effort to be somewhat less refined and stylish than usual and would compare it to the 2009. While it will almost certainly age for years, for my taste I would advise holding it only for another 3 to 5 years before starting in should you be fortunate enough to have more than a few bottles of this beauty. Try from 2027+.
This has already begun to change aromatically since my last review of it as the 2015 vintage character is more apparent with its very ripe white orchard fruit, floral, smoke and mildly phenolic scents.
