Charmes Chambertin, Francois Feuillet 2014

Tasting Notes

**Note: from a .65 ha parcel in Mazoyères**
A restrained and attractively fresh nose reluctantly exhibits a classic Gevrey nose of game, underbrush, earth and humus on the layered combination of red currant and dark pinot fruit. There is excellent concentration to the extract-rich big-bodied flavors where the dry extracts contributes considerably to the suave and caressing mouth feel before culminating in a wonderfully complex, powerful and openly rustic finale. This notably serious effort is almost painfully intense and while it's not refined, it certainly makes a bold statement. As the description suggests, this is going to need plenty of time.
