From the 1940s. Deep red purple colour with a dark core. The bouquet needs teasing out but has a great density to it also. The domaine’s typical sexy succulence is there, with some darker fruit notes behind and extra complexity, a multi-layered wine which is rare for this vintage. Quite a sumptuous finish too. Tasted: December 2018.
