Chambertin, Domaine Armand Rousseau 1998

Tasting Notes

An elegant, ripe and detailed fresh mostly red berry fruit nose is amply complemented by a broad range of nuances, including earth, anise, clove and a whiff of oak toast that dissolves into the rich, intense, muscled and powerful flavors that are not as firmly structured as one might think for a less than 10 year old Chambertin, all wrapped in a long and focused finish. This is still young and needs another 5 to 7 years to really arrive at its full state of maturity.
