The 1971 Rivesaltes has quite an intense bouquet with wood varnish, walnut, smoke and faint touches of peppermint and aniseed. The palate is medium-bodied with a viscous opening, notes of marmalade, nutmeg, white pepper and clove. It just lacks a little persistence on the finish. Not bad, but I prefer the 1972. Tasted with Philippe Gayral. 2018 - 2030
Lifted floral aromas, slight lack of fruit concentration. Luxurious to be able to mark this down by comparing it such a peer group!
