Puligny Caillerets, Jean-Marc Roulot 2014

Tasting Notes

A markedly floral-suffused nose displays additional notes of citrus, apple and wood spice. There is both excellent richness and volume to the overtly mineral-driven flavors that possess terrific complexity on the beautifully well-balanced, long and strikingly textured finale. This is really very stylish with the natural class of a fine Puligny very much on parade. Lovely juice.

The 2014 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Caillerets has a brisk, stony, sea-cave-tinged bouquet that expands in the glass. The palate is well balanced with a saline entry, gently building with a slight creaminess towards the finish. This appears to have just a little more nervosité than the Folatières at the moment.
