Tasting Notes

A highly complex if quite restrained nose grudgingly exhibits notes of red currant, spice, smoke, earth and the sauvage. There is excellent power and plenty of punch to the broad-shouldered and reasonably concentrated flavors that possess good power before culminating in a balanced and attractively persistent finish. This classically styled Corton is certainly firmly structured but I don't find the overall depth and length to be materially more interesting than the Fournières though it's entirely likely that this will outlive its 1er counterpart.
