Gevrey Chambertin Champeaux, Domaine Dugat-Py 2015

Tasting Notes

**Note: from a .33 ha of 50+ year old vines that abut Cazetiers; 90% stems**
As is virtually always the case this is much more sauvage in character with its cool but ripe array of cassis, black cherry, earth and distinct spice hints. The ultra-rich and impressively full-bodied flavors possess ample punch and muscle while delivering strikingly good length on the ever-so-mildly rustic finale. This is seriously good for its level.

The 2015 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Champeaux includes 70% whole bunch fruit this year. It has a very attractive and beautifully defined bouquet with mineral-tinged black cherry and cassis fruit, seductive and sensual with one of the best mineral expressions from the domaine's premier crus. The palate is medium-bodied with tensile tannin driven by the crisp acidity, very well balanced and absorbing the 100% new oak deftly towards the slightly candied, crunchy, live-wire finish. This is excellent.
