Gevrey Chambertin Cazetiers, Domaine Berthaut 2015

Tasting Notes

The 2015 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Cazetiers 1er Cru offers sappy red berries, cranberries, wild strawberries and a touch of gravel on the nose, which gains delineation as it opens in the glass. The harmonious palate displays crisp acidity and great tension, leaving a tingle on the tongue after the wine has departed. Chapeau, Amélie Berthaut. Superb. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting. (Drink between 2022-2045)

Deep dark colour, rich and ripe, with some slightly raw oak too. Very good intensity on the palate, darker fruit, excellent weight at the back, some barrel tannins but the wealth of fruit is the winner. Just a tiny niggle on the barrel programme.
