Andre Clouet Le Clos de Bouzy, Champagne Andre Clouet 2008

Tasting Notes

Bottled exclusively in magnums, Cloutet's 2008 Bouzy Grand Cru Le Clos is from a 0.5-hectare clos with old vines inside the historic domaine. Fermented in oak, the golden colored 2008 Le Clos is very pure yet complex on the densely scented nose that has a nice oxidative touch with chalk and discreet oak and mushroom aromas. Very clear and precise. The palate is dense and tensioned, very fresh and elegant and reveals a very long and tightly structured finish with richness, saltiness and purity. Sure, this 2008 is still far too young to be served and fully praised today, but it goes with great hope into the future.
