Tasting Notes

Aromas of cream, light toffee, mushrooms and plums follow through to a full body, silky tannins and a fresh and clean finish. Very tannic yet the tannins are ripe and polished. Try in 2021.

This is just a terrific wine that shows classic lines with bright fruit intensity that should remain intact for years to come. The 2013 Barolo Cannubi is an age-worthy interpretation with wild berry fruit, grilled herb, licorice and dark spice. The ensemble is elegant and compact with potential to gain in volume and length. There is steady firmness here spread over finely textured tannins. Drink Date 2019 - 2040

Barolo. Tasted blind. Just mid ruby with orange tinges. Very closed and leafy/herbal on the nose. Closed and reluctant on the palate too, but fine cherry fruit, rolled in powdery tannins, comes out on the finish. Still a little austere, yet complex.
