Tasting Notes

The bright-colored 2014 Wiltinger Braune Kupp Riesling Spätlese #4 was picked before the rain and offers a superbly clear, bright and complex bouquet of great charisma and complexity, with nectarine aromas. Full-bodied, round and highly elegant on the palate, this is an intense, lush and well structured Spätlese with finesse and piquancy, and a long and elegant finish. A great Spätlese!

(Le Gallais Wiltinger braune Kupp Riesling Spätlese) AP: 04 15. This offers a big nose of yellow fruits pepped up by some green apple and mirabelle as well as some bergamot and a fleeting scent of acacia honey. High levels of dry extracts and acidity make for a powerful and highly sprung experience on the palate with racier apple, apricot and bitter almond all wooing for attention in the after taste. While maybe not the classic Spätlese, this could turn into an impressive Auslese Eiswein at maturity as the fresh and ripe aromatics blend together. 2024-2039
