The 2015 Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru offers a perfumed, floral style as well as a silky, vibrant feel on the palate, all of which is very much in the style of the 2015 vintage. Black cherries, blueberries, violets, wet stone, spice-box and wood smoke all emerge from the glass of this ethereally textured, tight, yet impeccably balanced 2015 that has fine, fine tannin and a great finish. This is another incredible wine from Olivier Bernstein that delivers the goods. Give bottles 4-5 years, count yourself lucky, and enjoy over the following two decades. (Drink between 2022-2042)
Bright dense red, a huge amount of energy to the nose, impressive. And on the palate, this is massive wine, broad shouldered, very exciting with a very long aftertaste. Cherry and especially dark raspberry, slightly in liqueur format but not toppling.
100% new oak. Very savoury, almost leathery. Big and muscular. Not sweet but muscly. Very long term wine. Great balance. Dry on the end at the moment but with an electric charge throughout. Very neat.
