Here the intensely floral nose reflects notes of cool and pure essence of red cherry, raspberry, pomegranate and subtle spice nuances. The seductively textured medium weight plus flavors aren't as big and muscular as those of the Bonnes Mares but they more than compensate with their refinement and more harmonious finish that delivers outstanding depth and length. A lovely CSD that is also built-to-age.
The 2014 Clos Saint Denis Grand Cru has a very fragrant bouquet, very transparent with enticing, mineral-rich red cherry and strawberry scents that are very Vosne-like. The palate is silky to the touch, effervescent with hints of orange zest and a long, sweet, tart cherry finish that is very promising. Watch this one because I feel it will grow into a well crafted Clos Saint Denis.
