The 2014 Nuits St Georges 1er Cru les Chaignots, matured in 50% new oak, has a charming bouquet with vibrant red cherries and orange sorbet notes, already so full of life and generous. The palate is crisp on the entry, tensile and focused, not a huge depth here but lively and full of nervosité. I think it will fill out a little by the time of bottling and settle at the top of my banded score.
