Gevrey Chambertin Estournelles St Jacques, Domaine Duroché 2014

Tasting Notes

Here too there is a discreet touch of wood present on the even cooler, more restrained and slightly more elegant red berry fruit and floral suffused nose. The medium weight flavors possess sleek mouth feel and outstanding precision while delivering an abundance of minerality on the complex, intense and well-balanced finale. This velvety effort should drink well both young and old.

The 2014 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Estournelles Saint-Jacques has a lovely bouquet with lifted spice-tinged, black cherry and blackcurrant-scented bouquet. This is a charmer. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, lovely black spicy fruit and superb mineralité on the finish. This will be well worth looking out for once released. Superb - though just two barrels produced.
