There are a mere six barrels of this splendid St-Véran, the product of a gentle first pressing by Guffen's adapted Coquard press. Green and red apple, crisp melon and smoke mingle in an inviting bouquet, leading into a juicy, sapid palate of typical textural refinement and impressive length.
Drinking Window 2016 - 2030
Just 150 cases were made of this wine, taken from first pressings of Jean-Marie Guffens' top vineyards in Saint-Veran. The result is a peach blossom, ripe pineapple and apricot nose with hints of sweet vanilla. The palate is exotic, rich and viscous with superb concentration of juicy peach and apricot. The full bodied, powerful fruit is given texture by creamy, buttery notes and spicy oak, but there is still balancing acidity. This is open and approachable now with great intensity on both the nose and palate.
