Vosne Romanée Les Brûlées, Domaine d'Eugénie 2014

Tasting Notes

An exuberantly spicy nose combines with floral nuances, and in particular rose petal, to add both elegance and complexity to the pure red currant and cherry scents. There is lovely energy and delineation to the caressing, sleek, indeed even lacy flavors that possess very fine depth on the impeccably well-balanced and mineral-inflected finale. This is very Vosne in character though in contrast to the two villages wines, this will need a few years of cellaring first.

(from a 1.16 ha parcel of 60+ year old vines; there are two sections, one upper and one lower and this
cuvée now uses only the upper portion; vinified with 33% whole clusters). Here the nose is sufficiently
reduced to dominate the underlying fruit. Otherwise there is lovely energy and delineation to the
caressing, sleek, indeed even lacy flavors that possess very fine depth on the impeccably well‐balanced
finale. This is very Vosne in character and once again it should be enjoyable young if desired
