Tasting Notes

Round and rich on the nose, and sweet and fresh. Very pretty.

Jancis Robinson MW, JancisRobinson.com, April 2016

This property in the Graves is owned and run by the Cazes family of Lynch Bages. Previous vintages here have offered very good quality and delivered attractive, forward drinking with extremely modest release prices. The vines (planted in 1988) are now reaching maturity. 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 50% Merlot with 10% Cabernet Franc. Aged in one third new oak and the rest in one and two year old barrels from Lynch Bages. 13 degrees alcohol in 2015. Medium ruby colour with crunchy red fruits on the noise, the palate here is juicy and primary but layered with a little sweet vanilla. The tannins are soft and fine, providing a supple texture to allow this wine a fleshy finish that will make it ideally suited for early drinking.
